Sander van der Weide
is general director and founder of The Hockey Department.
Sander played no less than 275 times for the Dutch National Field Hockey Team and represented his country at 3 Olympic Games (Sydney, Athens and Beijing). He won a golden Olympic and World Cup medal and played club competition in The Netherlands for the Clubs Amsterdam and HC Den Bosch in Holland and in India and Spain, with four national titles.
From 2004 till 2009 Sander played for Real Club de Polo in Barcelona in Spain, where he founded The Hockey Department in 2007.

Gijs is our representative in Africa and together with The Hockey Department organises field hockey trips from and to Africa.
Gijs drove in 2010 with the Orange Trophy to the World Cup soccer in South Africa. This impressive journey of 22.000 kilometres was the start of a long term relationship with the continent.
For the KNHB he spent six months in Zambia, from where he founded the Hockey Dreams Foundation. Nowadays they can be found in Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
