Sander van der Weide
is general director and founder of The Hockey Department. Sander played no less than 275 times for the Dutch national team and represented his country at 3 Olympic Games (Sydney, Athens and Beijing). He won a golden Olympic and World Cup medal and played club competition in The Netherlands, India and Spain. is our South African ambassador. With Austin The Hockey Department welcomes a great name from South African hockey. In 2004 Austin got his first cap in the South African national team and has since then played in the Olympic Games of 2008 and 2012, the World Cups of 2010 and 2014 and many other tournaments. In 2005 Austin moved to the UK to play for Reading for four seasons.
Austin is now already for many years the captain and drag flick specialist for HC Den Bosch a team competing in the highest hockey division in
The Netherlands. Within The Hockey Department Austin is active in developing and promoting European hockey tours within South Africa and promote and develop hockey tours for European teams to South Africa. Austin can be reached at

He accompanied mountain bike events in Kenya, walked with a group of 50 men onto the Kilimanjaro in Tanzania but was mainly active in the African hockey sport. For the KNHB he spent six months in Zambia, from where he founded the Hockey Dreams Foundation which is now active in Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The Hockey Department is happy to announce Sebastien Dockier as her new ambassador.
Sebastien Dockier is one of the most famous strikers of the Belgian Hockey Team. Sebastien started his international hockey career in 2012. From that moment on Sebastien played every tournament for his country. With two times silver at the European Cup of 2013 and 2017 and one silver medal at the Olympic Games of RIO2016 as a milestone.
Sebastien started his career at Mechelse HC but then moved to Herakles, Beerschot and HC Den Bosch. Last year he moved back to Beerschot for one year. For the season 2018-2019 he will be playing for HC Den Bosch back again. With the World Cup ‘18 and the Olympic Games ’20 in prospect, Sebastien is training hard with the Belgian Team to get a good result in both tournaments.
Within The Hockey Department team, Sebastien will be developing and promoting The Hockey Department’s service offering for the Belgian hockey-community.
is responsible for the administrative and financial part of The Hockey Department. Her activities fall under the back office and therefore she will operate more in the background. She likes sailing, golf and skiing, in short, a sporty person. This is also the reason she likes to work at The Hockey Department a company with sports in its hart!
