Field Hockey Training Camp Rome

There are several field hockey clubs in Rome. Which makes it possible to easily combine a field hockey training camp with a visit to the beautiful city and all its benefits.

We make use of two different field hockey training locations. One with a hotel on walking distance, and the other one is at the Olympic Sports Complex, which has an excellent field hockey water-based pitch, changing rooms and a restaurant. From here you can easily take the bus to the hotel and the city centre.

The city Rome

Rome is the capital city with almost 3 million residents, built on seven hills and located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula.

Rome is a well visited city in the world and therefore has the status of a global city. Rome’s history spans 28 centuries: famous artists, painters, sculptors and architects made Rome the centre of their activity, creating masterpieces throughout the city. When you walk through Rome, you realise that this city is actually a large open-air museum. Therefore, its historic centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Vatican are among the world’s most visited museums while the Colosseum was the most popular tourist attraction in the world in 2018.

Since a long time it is a major gastronomical centre and nowadays the city developed its own peculiar cuisine, based on products of the nearby Campagna.

Rome was the host city for the 1960 Summer Olympics. Sports as soccer (AS Rome), rugby, basketball, volleyball, cycling and waterpolo are still important here. Ideal to visit a match with your team and experience the Italian temperament.

Rome has a Mediterranean climate, with cool, humid winters and warm, dry summers. In January, the average temperature is 12 °C during the day. In the warmest months, July and August, the average temperature is 30 °C during the day.
