Field Hockey Training Camp Lisbon
Your field hockey training will be on the Olympic Sporting grounds of Lisbon, a complex that features an excellent water-based pitch. The complex offers other sports facilities, which you can use for free if you book through us.
The city
This city is the capital and the largest city of Portugal, with 500.000 residents. It is one of the oldest cities in the world. The city is recognised as a global city, because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education and tourism. Enough to have some great days spending time here.
Lisbon is the city of Fado music and Vasco da Gama and with its 300 days of sun per year also Europe’s most sunny city. Take your team on a visit to the Castelo de Sao Jorge, go shopping in de Rua Augusta or get in the Santa Justa-elevator for an unforgetable experience. After an exciting day you can always settle down on one of the terraces in the Bairro Alto neighbourhood. Day trips to Cascais, Estoril or the Costa de Caparica to see the seaside are good ways to smell the local atmosphere or to surf.
Lisbon has a long tradition in sports. Many big sport events have been organised, but different sports are being practised as well. Soccer is most important, as it hosts three football clubs in the highest league, The Primeira Liga: Sport Lisbon e Benfica, Spoting club de Portugal and CF Os Belenenses. And other sports, such as handball, basketball, roller hockey, volleyball, rugby and field hockey. So many sport facilities can be played and seen.
Lisbon has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm to hot, dry summers. In the coldest month, January, temperatures during the day ranges from 10 to 18 °C. In the warmest month, August, the highest temperature during the day ranges from 25 to 32 °C.
