From 16 till 25 August Europe’s best women and men hockey players will be in Antwerp for the European Championship 2019. During this amazing event The Hockey Department will organise the European Youth Hockey Festival. This official side event will give you the opportunity to play your own international Youth Field Hockey Tournament and enjoy a top class spectacle at the same time!
The tournament
The EHF will be played in European Championship atmosphere, with teams participating from different European clubs. In total 16 teams will compete and each team will play 5 matches of 2 x 20 minutes. Besides participating in the tournament, all teams will visit matches of the European Championship.
During the tournament there will be a raffle for all teams where a clinic and a signed red lions shirt from world champion Sebastien Dockier can be won.
Dates
16 till August 18: boys & girls U14 competition.
23 till August 25: boys & girls U16 competition.
The venue
The international field hockey tournament will be played at hockey club Mechelen, Belgium. The club has excellent facilities with 2 water based hockey pitches. The venue is only 20 minutes away from the European Cup venue.
Accommodation
Participating field hockey teams will stay in tents at the hockey venue, where each tent can host up to 18 people. The tents & beds will be provided by the organisation. You only need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.
